The mission of Penobscot Valley High School is to prepare and challenge students academically and socially through a comprehensive program to meet their post-secondary aspirations and civic responsibilities.

  • Basketball for Monday: Boys 2:00 – 4:00, Girls 4:00 – 6:00

  • Basketball for Tuesday: Boys 2:00 – 4:00, Girls 4:00 – 6:00

  • Chris DeBeck from the Lincoln News will be here on Tuesday during homeroom to take pictures

of Fall Sports award recipients.


  • Boys and Girls basketball teams have an away game at Houlton on Wednesday. Bus departs at

2:45. Girls game at 5:00, Boys at 6:30.

  • PVHS / HMS Staff meeting in the library after school on Wednesday, November 30.

  • The Love Alliance building will be open after school until 3:30.

  • Basketball Thursday: Boys 2:00 – 4:00, Girls 4:00 – 6:00


  • Basketball for Friday: Girls 4:00 – 5:30, Boys 5:30 – 7:00

  • Reminder to senior parents that senior pictures and baby pictures are due to the yearbook staff by Friday, December 2. Please email them directly to, or send physical copies in with your student.


  • Seniors are sponsoring “Breakfast with Santa” and Craft Fair at ESS on Saturday, December 3.

  • Juniors are sponsoring “Festival of Trees and Wreaths” in the HMS Gym on Saturday, December 3.

  • Girls and Boys Basketball teams play Jonesport Beals on Saturday, December 3 at 4:00 and 5:30. Girls Basketball team will travel to Brewer at 5:30 to play at 7:00.

The State of Maine Department of Education and Maine CDC updated the Standard Operating Procedures for how schools respond to COVID-19 on December 30, 2021

UPDATED COVID-19 Standard Operation Procedures Fact Sheet

  • Students and staff will not be required to quarantine from school or school sponsored events following exposures to COVID-19 due to mandatory universal masking at school

  • Exposures outside or on buses will no longer be deemed close contact

  • The school will notify the guardian the student resides with via email when a student is determined to be a close contact at school

  • A student or staff with COVID-19 may return to school after 5 days of isolation as long as they:

    • Are symptom free/ experiencing a reduction of symptoms; and

    • Have been fever free for at least 24 hours without fever reducing medications

  • Remote learning will be available to students that are required to isolate due to being COVID-19 positive as determined by the building principal or school nurse.
