Congratulations to the HMS Cougars and Lady Cougars, as they both punched their ticket to the Penquis League Soccer Championship games! The boys won a thrilling 1-0 match against Penobscot Christian in Double Overtime, in which Henry Brochu kicked in a Blake Cummings assist for the game winner. The girl's game was less dramatic, as they jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead just four minutes into the game en route to a 9-0 victory over Greenville. In the process 8th Grader McKenna Ireland set the school scoring mark by kicking in her 69th career goal...a record previously held by Ryley Buck!
Both HMS teams will be HOME for the Championship games this Saturday 10/25/25, with the Lady Cougars facing Penquis middle school at 11:00 and the boys also competing against Penquis at 12:30. Best of luck teams, we are proud of you!
